A Spike Lee Retrospective
(Film/Tribute/Black History)
Created in celebration of Black History Month 2024, this 12-minute retrospective explores Spike Lee’s impact on film through interviews with Urbana Middle School staff and curated clips from his most iconic works. Using footage from MOVIECLIPS and IMDb’s “A Guide to Spike Lee Joints,” I paired select clips with instrumental music from the films to better reflect their individual energy. Custom graphics created in Canva transition between segments, while my narration provides context that elevates the voices of interviewees. The result is a thoughtful and engaging tribute to one of the most influential and groundbreaking filmmakers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
